Coach Kennie was born in Hammond, LA but grew up in Bogalusa, LA. He now resides in Burnside, LA and has been here since 2001. In 1975 Coach graduated from Bogalusa High School and in 1981 he graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University. It was there where he met his wife, Lori LeBlanc, an Ascension Parish resident. They have been married since 1984 and are the proud parents of two St. Amant High School graduates, Mandi (2004) and Darren (2009). Kennie has been employed by Ascension Parish Schools since 2004 and since 2015 has the role of the Planning Generalist for the district. Coach Kennie began his coaching career at St Amant High as the swim coach from 2006-2009 and another stint form 2013-2016. During his spare time Coach enjoys his family time, especially with his two grandchildren, Emma (3) and Luke (1), spending time with friends and also working in his yard. Besides his grandchildren his biggest passion is LSU athletics…. Geaux Canes!!!!
